Goji Berries – China’s National Treasure

Goji berries are grown in the northwestern part of Tibet and China, typically Mongolia. These berries are a fruit to the Lycium plant. This is an evergreen bush which has vines upto the height of 10 to 15 feet. But the fruit is relatively very small in size, just about(Northwestern University) one to two centimeters. These berries have tastes, sweet and bitter and tangy. The Himalayan ones are said to be much sweeter than the Mongolian or the Tibetan berries. Mongolian berries are usually tangy or bitter in taste. Other than tastes Goji berries are known for their vast benefits. Some of the Goji berries benefits are the anti oxidants and the fact that rather than being sweet in taste, they are low in calories.

The Goji berries are rich in vitamin A and C, thus making them the best anti oxidants. These have a variety of nutrients and eight amino acids which are not found in ay other fruit. Goji berries include carotenoid which is more useful than eating carrots. Goji berries also help us to look smarter as they can be used as anti ageing herbals. Thus a number of benefits of Goji berries are there, which can help the people who are sick or not feeling well.
